Camp Chickagami opened and was dedicated during a special Dedication Camporee

Tapawingo Hosts OA Conclave
The area 5B OA Conclave was held at Chickagami that weekend. 8 Lodges attended.
12/1977
Weeklong Winter Camp
A 5-day Winter Camp is held over the holidays.
2/1978
Winterspeil
The concept of an annual council-wide winter camporee / Klondike Derby is started again this year. It would continue for 29 years until the camp closes in 2007. Only one would not be held at Chickagami and was a day event held at Hiram College.
1983
Buildings Moved and Changed
Cook's Lodge moved to Powell; Camp Office moved to Cooks Lodge site; Lincoln Lodge demolished all in preparation for the new shower building.
4/1985
New Shower Building Dedicated
The Rotary Join Hands Committee dedicates a new year-round shower facility. This was intended to allow for more than Scout use of the camp as well as potentially supporting a swimming pool in the future.

Tapawingo Hosts OA Conclave
The area 5B OA Conclave was held at Chickagami and the new OA Lodge was dedicated that weekend.
9/1985
Frontier Festival
Diamond Anniversary Camporee with reenactors and Native American dancers and historians. The event was featured on the cover of SCOUTING Magazine.
1990
Joint Summer Camp
An experimental partnership with the Columbiana Council where 4 weeks of camp were held at Chickagami then they moved everything to Camp McKinley for two more weeks of camp.
8/10/1991
50th Anniversary Celebration
Chickagami turns 50. A time capsule is buried.
8/6/1994
Tornado
A tornado destroys the C.O.P.E. Course, much of the pines, and floods the lake, taking out most of the docks.
1995
Last Year of Boy Scout Summer Camp
This was the last year summer camp was held. Now part of the Greater Western Reserve Council, summer camp was relocated to Camp Stigwandish in Madison.

Final Winter Event
The last Boy Scout Winter Event for the Arrowhead District is held at Chickagami.

Final Retreat
The final retreat ceremony before the closing of camp is held.
10/10/2009
Chickagami Park Opens
The camp is reopened as Chickagami Park under the management of the Geauga Parks District. Pack 101 from Arrowhead District becomes the first unit to camp there.
